The chart of the week looks at the percentage of revenues that come from outside of the United States for the S&P 500 and its sectors. We often discuss geographic location when it comes to how we invest stocks and bonds to decide where we want exposure. But, as you can see, even if you are only invested in U.S. stocks, you have plenty of exposure to foreign markets. About 30% of the S&P 500 revenues come from foreign markets. The Information Technology sector is the highest at 61%. The Utilities sector is very domestically oriented with only 5% of revenues coming from outside the U.S.
