Taiwan has been in the news quite a bit with the House Speaker landing this past week. Many may wonder why this was such a big deal. There are various factors, but a major one is that China claims Taiwan as a part of China (which Taiwan denies), and Taiwan produces a significant portion of the world’s semiconductors. Given the world’s greater dependence on technology and the role semiconductors play, Taiwan and it’s relationship with China is increasingly in the spotlight.
